Earth Day Half Birthday 2012

What is this Earth Day Half Birthday we speak of? Well, we think it’s a great opportunity to make some special announcements about the 2013 St. Louis Earth Day Festival and let people know about the cool stuff that our organization does all year long. That’s right, not just April 22nd, but every day.

We’d like to get your help in raising the awareness of recycling and of our organization this month through Twitter and Facebook. And, in exchanged, you’ll be entered to win prizes.

Step 1:

Sign up for our monthly newsletter so you don’t miss the very exciting announcements we’ll be making about the 24th annual St. Louis Earth Day celebration – including the theme!

Step 2:

Like SLED on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to participate in our Earth Day Half Birthday contest, and help increase the visibility of sustainability in the St. Louis region.

Do one of the following to be entered to win prizes:
(This is the important part, so don’t stop reading now!)

  • When you see someone wearing a SLED Festival t-shirt — take a picture (you know, but don’t be weird about it) and Tweet it at us or post it on our Facebook wall.
    • You can only take a picture of yourself once per shirt (i.e. one entry for the picture of you in your 2011 shirt, one entry for you in your 2009 shirt, etc.).
    • You can make other people wear your Festival shirt and take pictures of them to enter as well; however, only if they agree to do so willingly and as long as you remain appropriately clothed in the process.
    • You may not disguise yourself or others for multiple entries. We’re pretty smart, so we’ll probably figure it out.
  • Anytime you recycle this month — take a picture and Tweet it at us or post it on our Facebook wall.
    • Again, no disguises and, multiple entries must be entirely separate recycling experiences (i.e. you cannot take a picture of yourself placing each individual item in your curbside tote and expect as many entries).
    • The person pictured will be entered into the prize drawing.
    • Get creative! Photos of re-use will also be accepted!

Step 3:

Do one of these things and your name will be written on a piece of paper and put in our fancy glass jar for a drawing on America Recycles Day – November 15th! Each time you submit a picture, another piece of paper with your name will go in the jar. We’ll hold a very ceremonial drawing during our lunch break and you’ll be contacted via the social media with which you entered the contest if your name is drawn!

Prizes include:
