Getting to the Festival

"Walk the walk" by using low-impact transportation to get to this year's St. Louis Earth Day Festival.

Get off at the Forest Park/DeBaliviere MetroLink Station and walk about 1/2 mile south toward the History Museum to get to the Festival grounds around The MUNY. You can plan to bike and ride on MetroBus or MetroLink and use our free bike parking area near the entrances to the Festival on Theatre Dr. or the McKinley/Pagoda intersection.

Or take the FREE Washington University shuttle that will be making stops at this MetroLink Station to get you right to the Festival!

Washington University

10:00 am to 6:00 pm, about every 15 minutes starting on the hour
Washington University campus East End
parking garage
Don’t wait in an idling car to get a nearby parking space! Leave your car at the East End Parking Garage off Forest Park Parkway at Hoyt and catch an electric shuttle ride to the Festival via our free shuttle service. Thank you to Washington University for providing this WeDriveU shuttle service free of charge.

At the entry gate, pull a ticket and keep it. You will need to present the ticket at the exit but will not be charged. To catch the shuttle, take the elevator to the ground level and look for the green shuttle stop flag near the Forest Park Parkway garage entrance, on the north side of campus. (Avoid the garage exits that are stairs only – it will be more difficult to see the shuttle stop when you surface!)

Ride one of the many paths in Forest Park to the Festival grounds at the Muny, just southeast of the Visitor’s Center. Thanks to Trailnet, two FREE bike self-park stations will be available this year (Pagoda Circle at McKinley Drive and on Theatre Drive).  Please bring your own lock.

Be mindful of the earth, lock your bike at our bike stations and not to a tree.

Celebrating Earth Day is a great time to get on the “Heel-Toe Express!”

If you must drive, load up your car with as many friends, family, neighbors, and pets as you can find! Park at Washington University’s East parking garage and take our free shuttle service – see the FREE Shuttle tab! Note:  Avoid the Hampton Street entrance to Forest Park, off Highway 40/64 because of heavy Zoo and Park traffic. View recommended park entrances, routes and parking.

Park Smart! If you do end up driving to the Festival, be sure to lock your car, make note of where you parked, and don’t leave valuables in plain sight inside of your car.

Take the Challenge!

Earth Day Challenge!

  1. Bring a refillable water bottle and a reusable bag.
  2. Use low-impact transportation to get to the Festival (bike, take the MetroBus Bike & Ride, walk, carpool).
  3. Eat vegetarian or vegan at the Festival.
  4. Compost your food waste at home.

Visitors who accomplish two of the four challenges and check-in at the Earth Day Challenge booth to receive an entry into our amazing raffle.  Located next to the Information Booth at the corner of Theater Dr and Pagoda Circle.

Parking

Public parking is available in the Upper Muny lot, the twin lots across from the Visitor’s Center, and on the streets surrounding the Muny Grounds.

The Lower Muny Lot will be reserved for permitted Festival vendor and volunteer parking only.

Park at the Wash U. East end garage and use the FREE shuttle service (see the top of this page).

ADA Accessible Parking is available in the Lower Muny Lot, off of Theatre Drive. This lot is accessed most easily from the Grand Drive/Forest Park Parkway entrance to Forest Park.
