Specialty Sparrows Shifts
Festival Setup:
Help us prepare The Muny grounds for the Festival. Activities may include, but are not limited to: moving tables/chairs, setting up barricades/picnic tables/traffic signage, vendor unloading/set-up assistance and placing recycling bins throughout the Festival footprint. (Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.)
Festival Tear Down:
Help return The Muny grounds to their pre-Festival splendor. Activities may include, but are not limited to: breaking-down earthday365 booths (such as Info, recycling stations, volunteer, merchandise, etc.), table/chair stacking, traffic flow control, picking up debris on the event grounds, and assisting with supplies load out. Help to supervise special parking areas, such as the musician/performers parking area. (Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs.)
Transportation:
Volunteers over 18 years old are needed for certain locations to drive golf cart transports to and from parking lots for disabled attendees and for entertainment acts. May drive a “people transporter” specifically for individuals or a “gear transporter” to help acts transport their gear to the stage and back to their cars.
Placid Opossums Shifts
Bike Parking Attendant: Manage the free bike parking area for the many riders that arrive at the Festival on two wheels. Assist as needed riders to self-park and lock their bikes to utilize the area as efficiently as possible. Keep record of number of riders utilizing the parking option. Locations: McKinley Drive or Theater Drive.
Merch Booth: Volunteers needed with sales experience to encourage attendees’ purchases of this year’s St. Louis Earth Day t-shirts and other earthday365 merchandise.
Entertainment Act Assistance:(Community Stage, Main Stage): Work at our stages assisting entertainers set up or tear down for their acts. Help entertainers unload and load their vehicles before and after their gigs. An understanding of audio equipment and speakers is preferred, but not necessary. Also includes working with the designers and models behind the catwalk to support the Sustainable Fashion Show. This position will assist with running errands for participants, keeping the dressing area clear and organized, and ensuring things run smoothly.
Bustling Beavers Shifts
Program Distribution/Collecting: Greet attendees with a smile and an event program, or direct them to scan the program QR code for a digital copy. When guests leave, ask to recycle the program and scan the survey QR code to fill out a short survey to determine if we are serving the community equitably.
Crowd Counting: As attendees enter footprint, count arrivals using a clicker. At the top of each hour, write down the clicker count.
Traffic Control: Manage access point to keep unauthorized vehicles from coming through barricades. Direct traffic flow one way through the footprint of the Festival during Friday Set up day. Communicate to vehicles that the streets of the Festival footprint close to vehicles at 9:00am on Festival days. All cars need to exit the area by that time. General greeter to Festival attendees. Locations: McKinley Drive, Theatre Drive/Union Entrance, Cricket Drive/Pagoda Circle.
Recycling Racoons Shifts:
Recycling on the Go – Clean Stewards: From the morning Setup crew to the Satisfaction Team on Sunday night, make an important impact on the event and on each visitor by maintaining clean Festival grounds, hauling vendor waste materials, and helping attendees sort their waste for recycling and compostable materials at Waste Stations. The best part of an event is the satisfaction of seeing the combined impact of many hands on reducing waste to landfill by over 90%! To read more, visit our ROG program pages.
