Susanne Reed – Recycling and Marketing Coordinator, Republic Services

Need a solution for your extraneous stuff?  Susanne is a total waste stream provider that helps find answers to the most challenging material recovery issues.  She specializes in sustainability and recycling.  Her current responsibilities include partnering with clients to maximize their recycling potential by employing and sharing best practices with businesses, institutions, municipalities, and yes, even event recycling.  Susanne makes recycling simple for the masses.

Ashley BementMarketing Manager, St. Louis Composting

Ashley Bement serves as marketing manager for St. Louis, Mo.-based St. Louis Composting, Inc., the
region’s largest producer of Seal of Testing Assurance (STA)-Certified compost. Bement not only performs the duties of Marketing Manager, but also assists with the planners and organizers of high-profile, well-attended events like Taste of St. Louis and LouFest, helping to divert 80% or more of food waste from entering landfills. Bement also serves on the planning committee for the Gateway Green Industry Conference in Illinois as well as aided in the formation of the nonprofit Composting and Organics Association of Missouri (COAM).

Maud Essen – Biodiesel Homebrewer

Maud Essen is a local renewable energy activist who hasn’t been to a gas station since 2005. That’s because she makes all her own fuel out of recycled restaurant fryer oil. Maud helps coordinate cooking oil pick ups for ROG Events, creating new fuel from oil that would have ended up in a landfill or municipal water system.
