Before we knew it, people began catching on to what we were trying to do…

In the world of Recycling On the Go, the busy months of August and September are seeing double the festival participation over last year. We thought we were busy in 2013, but in August 2014 we provided full recycling and composting service at 10 events, more than tripling the 3 we did in August 2013. In September we plan to provide recycling and composting services at 13 events, having only done 6 events in September 2013.  We all felt 2013 by the numbers was quite impressive, until now.  As of September 1st, we’ve diverted more than 62,000 pounds of waste created at local festivals and events from landfills. We are super excited about what those numbers will look like by the end of the year.

With an increase in events, comes an increased need for volunteers to assist with educating the public about recycling at these events. See our calendar for a full list of upcoming events, and consider registering to volunteer for part of the day at one of them to have a hand in educating the public.
