2023 By the Numbers

2023 was an amazing year for earthday365! With the enduring support of our loyal volunteers, donors, sponsors, staff, and partners, we made great strides in each of our programs, and we are excited to share a rundown of all that our community enabled us to accomplish:

2023 St. Louis Earth Day Festival

  • 18,000 attendees
  • 191 sustainable vendors
  • 95% waste diversion rate
  • 182 volunteers & 694 volunteer hours

Green Dining Alliance

  • 3 new certified members
  • 41 recertifications
  • 6,552 tons (13,104,000 lbs) of food waste diverted
  • 11 outreach presentations/trainings
  • Launched GDA Passport containing 20 coupons to 15 establishments
  • 17 members participated in Green Dining Week campaign to fundraise for GDA
  • Hosted 11 STL Green Drinks, connection events for local environmentalists
  • First Ever St. Louis Food Waste Challenge
    • 8 GDA participants
    • 250+ employees educated about food waste
    • Proclamation from the City signed by Mayor Tishaura Jones
    • Partnership with NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council)

  • Diverted total 54,000 lbs of waste
  • Engaged 83 volunteers & 223 volunteer hours

Environmental Justice Days of Action

  • Hosted litter cleanups in 15 neighborhoods in partnership with 10 local non-profits
  • Picked up total 17,610 lbs of trash
  • Engaged 303 volunteers & 909 volunteer hours
