Food Waste Challenge Celebration!

Join us as we wrap up the 2024 St. Louis Food Waste Challenge and celebrate the amazing accomplishments of our six innovative Green Dining Alliance restaurants.

On November 19th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Olive + Oak, we’re throwing a grand finale event to highlight the creative, sustainable solutions from the participating restaurants. You won’t want to miss this unique opportunity to taste the delicious hors d’oeuvres each restaurant has crafted from their own food scraps! These inventive bites will show just how creative and tasty sustainability can be.

Tickets are $10, with a discount for earthday365 members, and include your first drink from Olive + Oak.

Food Waste Awareness Day 2023

Thank you to those who helped us celebrate the inaugural St. Louis Food Waste Awareness Day!

It was a packed event with over 75 attendees. The City of St. Louis Mayor’s office presented their

Proclamation of Food Waste Awareness Day

and 3 challenge awards were given to:

  • SqWires – Biggest Impact in Sourcing Reduction
  • Bar K – Best Food Waste Log
  • Flavor 360 – Best Root-to-Stem Recipe

All 8 participating restaurants were each given a Certificates of Recognition from the City of St. Louis Mayor, Tishara Jones,  and St. Louis County Executive, Sam Page.

We are so excited to see what these local leaders in circularity accomplish in October, and we invite you to hear all about their achievements at our grand celebration on Tuesday, November 19th from 6pm to 8pm!

You’ll have the opportunity to taste their creative food waste strategies yourself, as every restaurant will be serving unique hors d’oeuvre creations made from their own food scraps.

Tickets are $10 which includes 1 free drink from Olive + Oak (members receive a 50% discount). Help the GDA in their mission to support restaurants in achieving their sustainability goals and celebrate their successes.
