Commitment to Anti-racism
earthday365 ABAR Committee Purpose Statement
The ABAR (anti-bias, anti-racism) committee consists of representatives of earthday365 staff, Board of Directors, and Young Friends committed to taking a leadership and advisory role in ensuring that the organizational structures, activities, and community interactions develop anti-racist culture within the organization.
We will do this by:
- Holding regularly scheduled meetings
- Actively engage with personal anti-racism education to build professional capacity to:
- Create on-going anti-racism professional development for staff, board, and Young Friends
- Develop ideas and strategies for creating a welcoming workplace environment that promotes authentic relationship building
- Arrange formal/informal events that create a greater sense of belonging for all
- Identify issues and set goals and expectations to address them for the organization and individuals
- Establish and maintain a restorative justice circle to provide accountability for D.E.I. issues
- Monitor and evaluate progress
