From the Director’s Desk: Celebrating Resilience

Jess Watson 2021The St. Louis Earth Day Festival has galvanized the regional environmental movement for over 30 years. It has helped develop the environmental consciousness of generations. It is a place of discovery and connection, and we weren’t prepared to give that up just because we can’t gather in Forest Park again this year!

Instead, we at earthday365 have a full menu of options (including some great restaurants!) to celebrate Earth Month during the entire month of April. Earth Day Celebration Kits contain ways to turn trash into treasure — and several actual treasure maps. We hope you enjoy the fun gifts and activities, which help you engage with the natural world around you in new ways.

Earth Day is also about creating positive change in our community. We care very much about cultivating a more inclusive regional environmental movement, so earthday365 has partnered with organizations in communities experiencing environmental injustices to offer three volunteer opportunities in April. Join with your neighbors to learn, explore, and take action.

We hope that you are inspired by the earth day 2019Festival to seek out more and more ways to integrate sustainability into your life. An earthday365 membership offers ways to engage with these important values year-round. We’re sharing ways to live a more sustainable life, working to build a more inclusive regional environmental movement, and celebrating reasons for hope – like all of the ways we have learned to become more resilient over the past year. Please join the movement by becoming a member today!
