EarthDance Organic Farm School at Earth Day!

Smiling, happy farmers.

Ever wondered what it was like to be a farmer? Now you can learn what it takes to be a real organic farmer, and take that knowledge back home to your own garden!

EarthDance Organic Farm School is offering free classes at the St. Louis Earth Day festival on April 22nd and 23rd. The classes, sponsored by the Natural Resource Conservation Service, are scheduled to begin every hour between 11am and 4pm on both days of the festival.

In addition to the incredible, useful, interesting classes available for adults, kids will be able to make seed art, participate in a planting activity, and, coolest of all, watch worms do their wormy thing in the vermicompost bin!

Saturday’s classes:

EarthDance Farm does interesting events all year round, both on their farm in Ferguson, Missouri, and around town at farmer’s markets and other foodie events. Their mission is to sustainably grow “food, farmers, and community, one small farm at a time, through hands-on education and delicious experiences.” They provide work and training through their apprenticeship program, which teaches participants a variety of skills that are useful on and off the field.

Their plot of land has been an organic farm for longer than Ferguson has been a city – the farm was founded in 1883, as Mueller’s Organic Farm. EarthDance Organic Farm School continues to nourish the soil and their community on that historic site. Visit their Organic Farm School classes at the St. Louis Earth Day festival and learn how you can nourish yourself, your land, and your community too!
