First annual Taste of Green a huge success!
St. Louis Earth Day’s first “fancy” fundraiser was a huge success, thanks to all who came out to Taste of Green on Wednesday, October 26. Despite the rainy afternoon, the evening was beautiful and our supporters all came out. Attendees enjoyed amazing samples from a dozen Green Dining Alliance-Certified restaurants, and beer samples from 3 GDA breweries.
Willow event space was just beautiful, as were the gorgeous flowers on every table, donated by City House, Country Mouse. Many unusual and beautiful items donated for the Silent Auction were bid on by the evening’s guests. Careful pre-planning by our Recycling On the Go program, and volunteers on hand to implement the program, kept the waste to a minimum, diverting 96% away from the landfills, while maintaining an elegant presence at the event.
This event would not have been possible without the Event Planning expertise of Laura Allers-Lowry and the full cooperation of our staff, our newly formed Friends of St. Louis Earth Day, Baileys’ Restaurants, Missouri Foundation for Health, Madrinas Coffee, our volunteers, and all who donated items for our silent auction.
Visit our Taste of Green page to see what each participating restaurant served. Remember to celebrate #GreenThursday each week by dining at a Green Dining Alliance Certified restaurant!
Funding for this event was provided in part by Missouri Foundation for Health. The Foundation is a resource for the region, working with communities and nonprofits to generate and accelerate positive changes in health. As a catalyst for change, the Foundation improves the health of Missourians through a combination of partnership, experience, knowledge, and funding.
If you could not make it to our fundraiser, but would like to support the efforts of St. Louis Earth Day, consider a donation today! After all, we help YOU make St. Louis greener!
