St. Louis Earth Day Seeks New Executive Director

As summer changes into fall, I would like to share news of major changes underway at St. Louis Earth Day. At the end of the month, Cassandra Hage will leave her role as Executive Director to assume new responsibilities as Sustainability Manager at Washington University. After nearly eight years with St. Louis Earth Day and five years as its leader, she will be dearly missed, and we all wish her well with her new and exciting opportunities.

While we are sad to see her go, St. Louis Earth Day is in an excellent position to transition, thanks to her strong leadership, great team and thoughtful succession planning. St. Louis Earth Day has sustained several years of growth and is headed directly toward a bright future: we completed a strategic plan at our summer Board Retreat to guide the next three years and our seasoned staff continue to excel at managing programs like Recycling On the Go and the Green Dining Alliance, as well as our signature event, the annual Earth Day Festival. We look forward to building on a strong foundation in Cassandra’s absence.

Jen Myerscough, Communications and Marketing Manager, will facilitate the transition as the Interim Director. After October 30, she will be the new main point of contact for the organization. She can be reached at jen@stlouisearthday.org or 314-458-5367. Jen has been with St. Louis Earth Day for the past year and has demonstrated a strong aptitude for leadership, organizational management and relationship development. We are grateful for her willingness to rise to this challenge!

With Cassandra’s imminent departure, we are announcing the opening for the next St. Louis Earth Day Executive Director. As supporters and followers of the organization, we hope you will help us spread the word to help us find the best qualified candidates from which to select our new director. Change like this creates opportunity, and we are excited to see who will steward the organization to new heights.

We thank you in advance for your support during this transition!

Sincerely,

Traci Lichtenberg
