WashU Grad’s BioDiesel Business
Kristopher Kelley is the Founder and C.E.O. of a small biodiesel company that is based in St Louis and Louisville. A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Kristopher has worked with them for some time to collect and recycle their waste vegetable oil. The biodiesel is then sold back to WashU to power their food delivery trucks.
His company, Kelley Green Biofuel, also works with Barnes Jewish Hospital. Kelley Green is large enough to handle any size account in a professional way, but small enough to work out customized collection schedules. Recently, I worked with Grove Fest to provide waste oil recycling for their event.
Kelley Green Biofuel is a renewable fuel company which makes biodiesel from waste vegetable oil. They collect the waste oil from restaurants/food service providers, and are always looking for new partners. They provide an opportunity for their partners to become more sustainable by converting a waste stream into renewable energy. In addition to the environmental benefits, this creates positive public relations value for the food service provider. All of the waste vegetable oil collected is converted into biodiesel, an Advanced Alternative Fuel as defined by the EPA.
Help Kristopher expand his business:
“I have entered a contest sponsored by Caterpillar to win their new Vocational Truck. To my knowledge, I am the only renewable fuel producer participating in the contest. I entered the contest because I need a way to haul bulk quantities of the used vegetable oil I collect. The new CAT truck will run on biodiesel.” – Kristopher Kelley
